Music Made in Germany

    Everybody knows Bach, Mozart and Wagner are from Germany, but do you know any other great musicians from Germany? 

    One of my favorites is 99 Luftballons by Nena which was a protest song while the Berlin Wall was still up.

    There is much more that was made in Germany!

    Speaking of German pop/rock, how about the Scorpios?  They were hugely successful in the United States. Not that many people know that they were originally from Hannover, Germany.

    Another nice to know German music fact : the Beatles were actually "discovered" while playing in a small club in Hamburg!!

    Deutsche Welle is doing a documentary on the final Scorpions tour before they retire. The website is available in English and German. It can be found here: http://specials.dw-world.de/scorpions-en/ It looks like the final documentary wont be released until 2013 though.

    Did you guys have listened to FALCO? "Rock me Amadeus" and "Der Kommissar" were huge hits even in the US!
