From Led Zeppelin to Veronica Lario. "Alimony, alimony payin' your bills"

    Alimony is a cognate: in Italian is "alimenti".  Divorce is another cognate: divorzio. 

    So, what Led Zeppelin, "Divorzio all'italiana", and Veronica Lario, Mr. Berlusconi's former wife, have in common? Well, on Christmas day the couple filed their settlement. Ms. Lario gets a cool 100,000 Euro a day in alimony. Yes, no mistake: there are 5 zeros after the number 1. And, yes, a day.  What a Christmas. "Alimony, alimony payin' your bills" 

    Any comment? Similar experiences anyone?

    No similar experience, but that's got to be a world record. Or maybe not; I don't move in these circles!

    Yes, ask around. In any case, according to Forbes, Mr. Berlusconi's net worth is $5.9B, so $36M (trentasei milioni) a year in alimony is not going to make much of a difference. In 10 years (dieci anni), the $360M in alimony will still be less than a half of that "0.9" after the "5" (cinque). To quote Led Zeppelin again: Rock and Roll.
