Noi siamo vs noi abbiamo?

edited January 2018 in Italian
Is there a reason that "we are" is used differently in these 2 sentences:
We are cold--noi abbiamo freddo
We are in the bedroom- noi siamo in cucina
I know i am just beginning, and am only in the Essential book, but i thought "we are" was "noi abbiamo". Please help

  • Sure!
In english you say : I'm cold

But the equivalent in Italian is
"I have cold"    IO HO FREDDO

(which sounds more like having a "cold feeling")
