Traditional Greek Greetings

If you ever visit Greece you’ll notice that Greeks are very warm in greeting each other: they double-cheek kiss friends and relatives or even people who just meet, like friends of friends or foreigners, to make them feel welcome. In addition to kissing, the traditional Greek greeting includes embracing, smiling, shaking hands and in general a lot of body contact. So don’t be surprised if you’re greeted in Greece with a double-kiss and a hug.
